It was .40S&W for a while. Switched to 10mm Auto.
HK P7 in 9mm.
If they made a P7 in .45, I would switch.

I carried and love the .40 S&W for years, however do to wrist problems and the type of recoil (snap vs push) of the .40, I switched to .45 ACP about 2 month's ago.

I chose 9mm, but I really don't have a primary caliber. It's a mix of 9mm, 38 spl, and .45 that are almost always backed up by a .380.

^ That's an "other."
I've had .38/.357 and .41 mags in the past, but not for SD against 2-legged creatures. When it came time for that, I chose the .45 ACP. Simply a personal desire, no overwhelming conviction that it's better than any other caliber. I just like it.

.40 cal. for me with a .380 backup. Once in awhile, a .9mm or ,45 acp. for primary along with the .380

9mm followed by .45
Glock: G22 .40 S&W Smith and Wesson: Model 437 .38 Spl, and Sigma SW9VE 9mm
I carry 10mm and .357 but I chose .357 because I carry it more now
mostly 38, but sometimes 44, depending on what Im doin or goin.
My caliber choices are 9mm or .22 or .25; I always, every time every day, carry the 9mm. If I had it to do over again, I'd still go with the 9mm. I like the almost ridiculous ammo capacity, and feel it's plenty power enough for a guy like me.
Standard EDC 9mm, I am in process of changing over to my next carry,. Beretta cougar 8357 in 357sig, it sounds strange to a lot of people. I shoot the round well, and its good enough to protect the president, so the secret service says.

45 w/ 380 or 9M bug. I also carry 40 as a primary once in a while, but 45 in my main carry.
