    Looking for 4" 9mm 1911.

Right now, I carry a Kimber Ultra CDP II. 3" 45cal.
My range gun is primarily an M&P Pro 9mm 5"
I love my Kimber for what it is, and I enjoy the keep shooting of the M&P. If I combine the love of the 1911 with the 9mm it seems like a match made in heaven for the range and even personal defense.
I was looking at the Kimber Pro Carry II in 9mm.
as well as the Tactical Pro II.
Im not opposed to other suggestion of other manufacturers.
Just looking for a little input and opinions.

Check out the Dan Wesson Guardian, a Commander sized bobtail 1911 in 9mm. Alloy frame too, would make a great carry gun.

You didn't give a price range you were looking at spending. Dan Wesson makes a 4.25" 9mm called the Gaurdian. Although it carries a rather hefty $1500. price tag, if it lives up to the Dan Wesson standards, it's well worth it.

    STI VIP 3.9 inch

STI makes a 1911 in 9mm with a 3.9 inch barrel called the VIP model. It has a 10 round, double stack magazine.

IMO, the .45 ACP 1911 is perhaps one of the best pistols ever made. But when talking about 9mm I prefer the BHP. I am a huge 1911 and BHP fan.

I have to throw my hat in the ring for this one. A few years ago I picked up a Para USA LTC in 9mm. It is one of the best shooting guns I have ever held. I put several hundred rounds through it before giving it to my son after some judicious begging on his part. He still carries it today.

Shoots pretty darn good as well:
