    New Colt

So, the wife got home a little late today.
I thought maybe traffic was bad or maybe she was just working a little late.
Turns out she was busy buying me a new Colt Defender.

    Now thats a kick-ass wife & a kick-ass gun!

Im a lefty so I have to send it to the custom shop to get an ambi installed.
I cant help but wonder if I should have them do anything else while they have it.

Cant wait to get it to the range!

Now I need to start shoping for all the goodies - holster, grips, mags....etc.

Only pics I have are from my phone...

The Colt Defender is one sweet Officer model 1911. Congrats! You're not going to stick with the factory Hogue's? If not, what kind of grips are looking to put on it? I have Government and Commander 1911s, but no Officer model yet. The Colt Defender might just fit the bill for me.

Pretty sweet! Love the wife tonight like she should be. Kick'n ass has little to do with it IMO.
Now I need to start shopping for all the goodies - holster, grips, mags....etc.
What about shopping for your kick ass wife that got you that kick ass pistol? IMO...you've got to know what to feed first! LOL!

The Defender isn't an Officers, the Defender has a 3" barrel and no barrel bushing, and are rollmarked Series 90. The Officers ACP (the actual model designation, which Colt hasn't made for a number of years) has a 3.5" barrel and used a special barrel bushing and recoil spring plug, and were rollmarked Series 80.

Very nice looking piece. If you use a scoop draw, you will find that the Hogue's are beneficial.

Niece pistol. I love my Ultra Carry II. Small light and 8 rounds of 230gr Ranger T in it when carried, not to mention two 7round mags on my other hip.

Congrats! I have been very happy with my Defender. As to the grips, I really like the Hogues, and have no intention of changing them. I think you will find the out of box accuracy to be phenomenal. Mine seems to eat anything, includng steel cased ammo. Enjoy.
