    Carry at home, Lounge Pants

I'm one of the carry in my own home folks. This time of year when I get home, it's often lounge pants and house shoes type of attire for quite a while (cold out and it gets dark early...not much else to do). Not conducive to carrying on your person. That being the case, I usually have a holstered weapon near by (on top of china cabinet or I carry it with me to other parts of the house). Typically a .40 or .45 fairly good size gun. I've not been totally comfortable with it off body and last night I found a solution. My PT709 fits in my lounge pants pocket (in thin vinyl pocket liner) with the spare mag in the other and it doesn't weight them down. That's 15 rounds on my person at home and I don't have to change my evening comfort wear. That rules. I had the solution, it was just in the safe. Get home, change clothes, slip the carry gun in the small safe and get the small gun out and slip it in my pocket.

In home I either have the gun on me holstered, if the fannypack was the way to carry that day it is on or near. If I am lounging the weapon of choice is within a foot or two.

I just sit around in my Smartcarry. It's like a thong without the irritating strap up your behind.

When at home, the Glock is still on the table next to me, but I may still have the P-3AT in an IWB/SOB holster also in place.

I've found a few pairs of heavily worn camo bdu's make great lounge pants and I don't need a belt if I'm just pocket carrying. Plus then I don't have to be "that guy" wheelin the trash out to the curb in his pajamas.

The 442's on board in said pants right now - loungin on the couch by the fire. My plan is for those 5 rounds of .38 to get me to another gun, worst case scenario.

    I believe that's a lounge singer.

I just gave up, it's blue jeans for me.

    scenario.
No. . . you're 'that guy' taking the trash out in "camo pants". . . paging Jeff Foxworthy. . . ;)

I don't have kids around, so I just put my carry pistol (XD40 Service) on the table beside the couch if I'm not wearing my jeans.

So. I guess then I would be "that guy."

"Home carry" seems a bit extreme to me, but then I'm living in a very well-defended, low-crime area. If I had to carry at home, maybe a shoulder rig?

I've got kids around the house, hence easy access for me and not them. Most of my lounge pants look more like MC Geezer rather than hammer. Plaids, one cammo, and I hate to admit it....Sponge Bob (my daughter thinks they're hilarious). I'm not taking the trash out in them though...we've got 6 inches of snow on the ground, 15 degrees, and wind blowing 25+mph. I also have a S&W 442 that fits the bill for this as well. My philosophy in HD is if anything goes down, the handgun will buy me enough time to get to my 12 ga.

Not the most subtle thing, especially if your on your front porch and you have neighbors 15 feet away, but i prefer to just get the 12 gauge out and rest it beside me.

One of the reasons why I love my LCP so much. Slip it into any pocket and I'm good to go.

Pancake holster and tie off the string on my sweats, keeps the G27 at my side when I'm at home.
