I am going to get my Hi Power back.

Well hopfully I am going to get my Browning Hi Power back from a friend that I sold it to.I needed property tax money the last few years so I had to sell alot of my guns to make ends meet. But now I think I have him interested in another gun I have so I can have my 1987 MKII back.I can't wait to start carrying it again.I also ordered a new Theis IWB holster so I can carry it comphy all day long.

    Cool

If he is a true friend he will sell it back to you or trade whichever the case may be. Good luck !

Congrats and nice that you have a friend that'll do that for you. Doesn't that hammer "get you" though? Just seems like it would nail you in the top of the hand.

Yes he is a true friend.Heck I sold it to him for $300 knowing that I may have a shot at getting it back.So I am bringing up my Glock 29SF with extra mags and lots of ammo to make it a decent deal for him. Before he told me he didn't want to sell it because he has plenty of money but to find some thing to trade him.So tomorrow is the day I hope to have it back. You know.......sometimes I wish I'd have sold some of my guns to friends and been in the position to buy them back later. Then in a way, I'm glad I haven't.
Some of us get in a tight spot sometimes and do what we have to do to meet the bottom line. It happens. Been there myself.
I hope you do get your pistol back as it's quite obvious that it's something you need to have with you.

Hello. Hopefully, your Mk II will come home. I don't know if it might be of use or not, but here are some observations on hammer-bite, which is common with the Hi Power and some folks...including myself. Hopefully, the link might be of some use:

    http://www.hipowersandhandguns.com/H...HammerBite.htm

Though on a Mk III rather than a Mk II, the spur hammer is the same design and shows a bobbed hammer as described via the link above.

Here is the nipped hammer spur at full-cock. There is a gap between it and the web of the hand but this gap is nearly removed when the hammer is forced completely rearward when the slide cycles.

Whether you opt to bob the hammer spur or not, I hope that you do get your Mk II back and that it serves you well for decades to come.

    Best.

High on my wish list, the Hi Power is among the handsomest guns ever built. Good Luck Mr. Two Guns!

    Good for you TWO GUNS.

There are many fine handguns available but the BHP is in a class by itself, IMO.

Well I got srewed and did not get my Hi Power back.He decided that he could not part with it.In the meantime I had another guy that was willing to trade me his Hi Power for my G29SF but when I finally got an answer from my friend it was too late and the other guy already traded his Hi Power. So now I have a Brand new Theis holster and no Hi Power to go in it.Man this sucks.

    Angry

I am sorry to hear that. Your "friend" leaves a bit to be desired.

    +1

    I'm sorry too.

One positive note is that there are some nice gently used Hi Powers out there.
