Thumbs up Update H&K USP .45

    Well Guys:

I was at the range on Saturday, and fired 200 Winchester 230gr jhp (from wally world) and 50 Federal premium 230gr jhp rounds, and as suspected, she performed flawslessly. She was dead on from 7 & 15 yards. The mag release is a little different but i quickly adjusted. I will be purchasing that Hogue grip, she is a tad bit rough after a few hundred rounds. The Decocker saftey lever is new to me and well, until i get the hang of it she will be decocked and ready to fire. I saw that the H&K comes in 9 different variants, and i chose variant 1. One last thing, what do these markings on the side of the slide mean/stand for?

The BWB is from the German "Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung" or "Federal Bureau of Military Technical Procurement."

The symbol to the right of the date code is a stag horn. It is the symbol of a particular proof house, located in Ulm, Germany. German firearms are sent to proof houses before sale, for inspection and quality control. This is much like a 'UL' listing for American small appliances. There are other proof houses, for example, in Kiel and Hannover, Germany, but HK uses the Ulm proof house exclusively.

More than ya ever wanted to know on the symbols probley.. Thanks to Hkpro

The character with the 'N' under it is an eagle with spread wings. This is called the 'Bundesadler' and roughly translated means 'federal eagle." It is used on many German federal insignia. The 'N' stands for "Nitrozellulose" (Neetro-tselluloze) or "Nitrocellulose" in English. This is a universal symbol found on German firearms that use modern nitrocellulose based propellants.

My proof marks are on the same side as maqueswell's HK. Glad you like yer HK. I ditched my grip sleeve after several years of service and once I got used to the sharp checkering, like it much better without a sleeve.

Rocky, any particular reason why you got rid of the grip sleeve?

After so many years, it just got old and loose fitting on the grip. figured it wasn't safe so I took it off.
