    I made a bad mistake...

I actually handled an Hk P-30 the other day. It felt sooooo good in my hand. The DA trigger seemed a bit lighter and smoother than the USPs. The SA is great.

But wow! Those things are expensive! $859 - and that's not even a matched pair!

So now what am I going to do? Probably trade my Sig P220 Carry SAO in on one - well unless someone wants to buy it.

I have to say I like the Hk P-30 a lot! But I don't know what it does that a Glock won't. Hmmm, I guess there's the looks, superb feel in my hand, soft recoil and last but not least, Hk elitism.

Now I've got to find a gunshop that has one and will trade; the one I found it in won't do trades.

My friends can't tell a Hi Point from a Dan Wesson. It's no fun at all to try to show off...

That's a great feeling when you find something new that's really gonna work for you.

The problem is, that great feeling has been happening way too much lately

I suspect from your posts on this and the Sig forum that you are spinning out of control! Get a hold of yourself! This is your conscience speaking! I almost ordered a Dillon 550 reloading press a few minutes ago, and then my good sense kicked in and I realized my current reload output is sufficient, easy to change calibers, and unnecessary to upgrade.
If you really need something new, get the 45 ACP exchange kit for your Sig 250 .....they are only about $235 now.

Here's the cure....every time you get the urge to go to a gun shop, take that cute pooch to the park and play with him. At the end of the session, your mind will be clear, and you'll be too tired to go gun shopping. You don't need an HK.........You don't need an HK.........You don't need an HK!!!

Tangle - If I am not mistaken, isn't the mag release in the trigger guard, similar to a Walther PPS? If so, would that not require significant re-training to get you to the point where you can change mags without thinking about it?

For the money, you could almost get 2 Glocks.

Are the mags all-steel, or steel-reinforced polymer, like the Glock ones? I'm a big fan of the Glock mags - they eliminate a major source of potential issues with semi-autos.

Sorry dude...but I vote "pass" on that one.

Ahhh, Tangle (the dog, I just use her name in honor of a loyal little buddy) would love that. Right now she's got a tender left rear - not sure what it is; she's got so much energy and spirit it almost breaks my heart to see her limp. It's not all the time, but she does re-irritate it.

For me, it's the most natural, instinctive release I've ever seen. After about a week of carrying/shooting/manipulating my USP, I have a hard time retraining to the more conventional releases. My trigger finger hits that release so fast and sure that sometimes I've reloaded before I knew I needed to.

Hmmm, I don't remember but I'm pretty sure their polymer - the USP mags are.

Check CDNN's price on a new P30. The latest catalog shows it at $780. Still high, but the best I've seen for a new one. Maybe save a few bucks if you went for a nice used P30.

It really is a terrific pistol. I shot my son's P30 last week. It was very easy to shoot well from the beginning. I may have to add one to my HK family too.

Some USP mags are poly, some are steel. Other HK mags are steel.

I saw that in CDNN's catalog that arrived recently. However, I really, really need to do a trade or sell and buy.

I've been waiting for the P30LS to come out for over a year or so. When they finally hit I'll be on one like white on rice in a blizzard in the arctic while riding a polar bear...oh you get the idea, I want one.

The mags are steel if I'm not mistaken.

Tangle, check out P30 Thursday , it will make you want one even more.

I ought to know, I just looked at one last week; but I was so focused on getting the gun loose from my hand, I missed the mag completely.

Wow! 91,322 rounds! What's the difference in a stoppage and a malfunction though?
