    Keep or Dump???

I bought a gun from a friend cuz he was jammed up before Christman and I really don't want it. Its a 40 cal M&P. Nothing wrong with it I just don't really have a need for it and it's not really my style cuz he I don't like "flashy" when it comes to my guns. It's supposed to be 24kt gold plating added to the pistol. Plus I have almost the same gun in 45 and 9. I gave him $400 for it figured it was at least worth that what do you guys think??

Very nice of you to help a friend, especially at Christmas! In terms of keeping or selling the M&P, all I can say is to follow your heart.

    Good luck.

I think in asking the question you've answered it. You don't really want it. Why would you keep it other than in hopes your pal wants to buy it back?

Unless there's something you want to trade it towards, I'd consider hanging on to it and maybe giving him the chance to buy it back after the holiday dust settles. Christmas spirit and all that.

Keep it until January so that the Christmas fever tones down a bit and then you have several options: 1) Sell it back to your friend, 2) Trade it for another gun or rifle you like more, 3) Sell it for a small profit, or 4) keep it as part of your collection.

I too wish I had more friends like yours. That same gun in Costa Rica is worth $1,100!!!

Good advice. Good friends hang on to stuff like that for each other.

DUMP IT! Send it to me!

Seriously, why ask us? I mean a ton of guys like it and a bunch more don't... so what? I think DarthPete nailed it! It's only your decision that matters!

I am gonna ask him if he wants a chance to buy it back for the $400. If he says he doesn't want it back you may see it here in the classifieds I wouldn't mind selling it to add to my 338 lapua fund.

If your not strapped for cash, hang on to it a bit. A used gun is a used gun, the value to you isn't going to change in the next 6 months or so.

If he thinks he wants it back when he gets better cash flow let him have if for the 400 he got from you.

I am still hanging on to a GP100 I gave a guy 200 bucks for. That was about 15 years ago, I don't think he is coming back for it at this time, but if he did, I would sell it back to him.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Wait till spring and when he gets his tax return, offer to sell it back to him for $450, or even cost if you are a good friend, I'm sure it pained him to part with it.
