Went to the gun store to buy a 642
Walked out with a Gen 4 GLock 23 :) I really did have every intention of buying the 642 but my local shop had them on sale and were out. The upside is they gave me a rain check on it so when they come back in stock I cant get one for the sale price. I took my new 23 to the range, gave it a quick clean and put 200 rounds through it. VERY nice shooter. I have to admit that the dual recoil assembly does lighten up the .40 a noticeable bit. The gen 4's are also very comfortable in my hand as opposed to the gen 3's which I felt were designed for some other species. Overall I am very impressed. I can see this quickly becoming my cooler weather carry and my SP-101 becoming my warm weather carry. And the best part about it is I already of a CBST to fit it!

See, I knew you would buy a Glock within the year! Heck, I think you ended up getting it within the month!
(I know, I know - you said you would!)
I'm glad you find the Gen 4 to fit your hand better. Hopefully Glock has finally answered all the whiners...err, I mean concerns...from those out there who hated on them. Ahhh...probably not...some folks will find a reason to hate on them. Such is life...
In any case, I hope your new Glock gives you reliable service for a long time to come!
Congrats!

A new Glock, eh? I knew you'd have another real soon...welcome back to Glock Land!

Man, you are really making it hard for me to resist trading my Gen 3 G23 in on a Gen 4 model. I love my G23 but the one thing I do not like about it is the grip. It feels like it was made for someone with a hand that is shaped much different than mine. I keep hearing all these comments about how great the new grip is and it is killing me.
I'm just going to have to get my hands on one and see for myself.
Honestly, I can't remember, will the Gen 3 mags work in the gen 4 guns or an I going to have to buy all new mags? I have 10 for the G23. I'd hate to have to invest in all new mags!

With your luck I would have got a gen.3, the 4 is too new. I might even stay away from the 23 because of kabooms.
My 23 has been great, I can't even limp wrist it.

- Old magazines still work, but only when magazine release is on left side.

I checked out a Gen 4, and honestly, I couldn't tell much of an improvement on the length of pull, which I was hoping for.
i am glad that yours is working out for ya
