I ended up getting the RIA. I went out today and got a usable holster (galco cop), two 8-round Wilson combat 47DE mags, and a few boxes of various JHP's and a whole bunch of 230gr FMJ's. Going to see which JHP's feed the best, just waiting for the snow to defrost

Feels and points great. The trigger is pretty nice too. All in all not to bad, we'll see how the range goes.

It's a minor qualm as most people say that they've been taken care of when they needed service, but it just bothers me.
Because RIA is built by Armscor in the Phillipines, so their service is done by a North American service center as opposed to trying to mail the guns back to the Phillipines.

I've actually heard they have outstanding customer service as far as repairs and modifications to RIA/Charles Daly/Citadel/etc. guns.

This one's a tossup, I think, but I'd probably go for the Springfield. It'll hold its value a bit longer, and the forged frame and slide are better starting ground for modifications later.

The RIAs shoot great and are generally very reliable range, carry, or truck guns, but the Springfield probably has a slight edge.
Note to self: The only way to win is not to play.
