    Only have $300

    Hi,
I am looking for an inexpensive gun to leave in my truck. Have several nice handguns but can't risk them being stolen. I am only willing to spend around $300. My wish list includes:
    Must be stainless
    9 mm or above
    Would love adjustable rear sights
    If automatic-would prefer no safety
What I would not like to hear is:
"You should never leave a gun in a truck"
"Save up some more money before buying"
I know lot's of you need, or have, a gun like I am looking for.

    Recommendations would be appreciated.

You could probably get an older j frame for around 300 or maybe a 3rd gen smith and wesson auto.

I'm not going to say not to leave it in your truck but I would advise getting some sort of safe you can bolt to the body of the truck... a major deterrent if nothing else.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Ruger P98DC would top my list for used at good price in what you're looking for. Stainless? Going to push your limit IMO. An expendable pistol? Never thought of that myself. $300 or less? Check your local pawn shops and tell them what you're willing to pay despite the tag. IMO....you're asking a lot for a $300 pistol. Not to say what you're looking for can't be found. Best of luck to you going into the new year.

Second that on the J frame, and the other thing

I'd recommend the Kel-tec P11 over the Pf-9 if it's going to be almost exclusively truck duty. Couple extra rounds never hurt anybody...except the bad guy.

CDNN has used S&W 5906s, 15 round, 9mm, for $299 in their new catalog. It does however have a manual safety.

Shop around. For $300 there is a ton of good pistols to be had. You need to hit a few LGSs and a few local pawn shops. Good deals are about leg work.

I agree. Ruger P89DC, my dad sold his for $350 it was stainless and probably had 300 or less rounds through it. It was his Safe Queen and look brand new.

Why not just leave the $300 in your truck and save yourself some time.

Why a handgun? Get a Kel-tec SUB2000. They are great.

A brand new stainless S&W Sigma costs just under $300. For about another $40, you could upgrade to the newer and improved S&W SD. So if you could scrap up two more $20 bills, it could be another option.

    S&W Sigma:
