It's been 100 years since the 1911 was introduced. Although they do not have them out yet, I plan on buying a centennial edition of the 1911 this year sometime. How about you guys?

My Officer's and Commander will get a big brother this year, likely a stainless 70 series. In my book any 1911 bought 100 years after introduction is an anniversary model.

No plans on buying a centennial model. I have a 5" and my 4.25" DW CBOB, don't see a need to buy a safe queen.

I plan on at least two Colt ANVIII models.
I sold my last custom 1911 Springfield and it was one of the less intelligent moments of my life. I had so many mods done to that thing’ that I would have been money ahead to just buy a Wilson Combat. Anyway, that’s a sweet looking piece for sure.

Just bought a NIB Stainless Colt Commander on the 31st, I won't get it till next week (FFL transfer). I'll just have to pretend that it's a Centennial model.![]()
I plan on two Colt ANVII models, one for my son and one for me.
Mine will not be a safe queen.
Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side.
I do not plan on buying a Centennial model, but do plan on purchasing a Colt 1911 sometime this year. And then, I'm really done buying 1911's for a while, this time, I mean it too. Until I finally decide to start venturing outside of the full-size steel models.

I don't know if I can buy specialty models cuz I tend to like to shoot what I have. I already have a gun or two i don't shoot anymore cuz I wanna keep the value up.
*It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
*Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
*We all got it coming

Gonna try and pick this one up...http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=206871796 just waiting on a good time to pounce...![]()
Is it really an anniversary model if you haven't been making them for 100 years?

I don't plan on getting an anniversary model, but I really want to get a 1911. I am thinking about a Colt or a Springfield GI. I just watched "The Pacific" mini series by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks so I got all pumped up with the 1911 pistol. What a beauty!

I've had the itch for a 1911 for years so I bought a Colt Series 70 Government model in September hoping to satisfy the urge... The plan backfired and now I want another! Man I"m in so much trouble!!I"m starting to save for another Colt Government model to tinker with and maybe customize down the line (I"ll leave my current one stock) so I'm hoping to get one by the end of the year but probably not an anniversary model, but one built in 2011 nonetheless.
