Thanks! I realize that recoil is determined as much by grip, and barrel design, than just weight and energy. I agree the J frame Scandium is B-R-U-T-A-L IN .357. I sold my 340PD because it was punishing, not fun to shoot. My 25 ounce S&W 649, Taurus 651, and SP 101 in .357 are very manageable BUT their weight, 25 ounces each, makes pocket carry unreasonable. I guess I am looking for something with a compromise between weight and recoil. I think the .357 LCR will get a chanceQuote:

I am a poor revolver shot but my wife is an excellent shot with a revolver and she really wants one of these. So, this may have just gone on the "to get" list as long as she likes the way it feels in her hand. We will have to make a trip to the gun shop so she can hold one....

Update, I am pushing 2K with this with no ill effects. Lots of 115 and 125 grain generic ( such as WWB) FNJ magnum rounds through it since I last posted. I have become very proficient with the speed strips but I found a new company I ordered a speedloader from to test out to see if it works better.... it looks like they too took material off and made them smaller in diameter than the HKS.

Pricey but I just can't seem to like the 5 star firearms shiney ones so I never ordered one. If they did them in a more subdued black I may buy them.... I know I know it is just a color, but I am not into shiney stuff.
I thank you for taking your time to make such a thorough report of your findings with your LCR 357.
My LCR .357 had to go back to Ruger for a broken firing pin issue with less than 300 rounds through it. :frown:
But at least they fixed it free of charge. :smile:

Update: At around 2500 rounds for this weapon so I bought another to train with and use this as my daily carry. I do not feel undergunned or the need to carry a g19 and 3 mags. Life is good and lightweight carry is even better.

After my last class, I realized that I should have a "coat pocket gun" for the winter - that it would give me a significant edge (fired from within the pocket). The lightweight LCR .375 definitely fits the bill.
