    New to Me XD-9 SC

I was in my local gun shop this evening looking around in the used case. I spotted a XD-9 Sub Compact that had very little wear for $349. It doesn't appear to have much if any carry wear, and the bore seems bright as well. I had been interested in a high capacity 9mm compact, and was considering a g26 gen4 over the next couple of months. I compared the feel of the XD and Glock, and preferred the feel of the XD-9sc. So, after the necessary paperwork.. I tacked on two boxes of target ammo, and put 100 rounds through it at the shops range. I have to say I like how it shot, and I didn't have a single failure. The XD came with the case, paperwork, holster, mag carrier, loader, lock, and a 10 and 16 round mag. At $349, it seemed like a fair deal that i couldn't pass up. I am going to shop around for a few spare mags, and call Springfield tomorrow to see when the gun was manufactured. It is in the serial # "XD114xxx" range if anyone has any ideas?

    Hell yeah!

That's an awesome deal. I got mine with a LE discount and paid around $425 new. It came with one 10 rounder and two 16 rounders with the LE package and I had them add XS Big Dot tritium sights. IIRC adding the XS Big Dots was about the difference between the retail price and the LE discount price. You got an excellent deal.

    It's a great gun. I think you'll love it.

Absolutely great gun, especially for that price. Mine is XD145xxx and I purchased it brand new about a month ago. Don't know if that helps. I don't how fast they go through serial numbers. I agree the grip on the XD9sc is better than the G26. It doesn't have that hump.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! When i inquired about the previous owner at the shop last night, the staff only knew it came in as used from the factory. I just called Springfield customer service and they informed me it was manufactured in February of 2010.. so it is fairly new. I also asked customer service if it had been back to the factory for repairs, and she indicated that it had not. So, I am not sure the whole history.. but it appears to be a pretty new, lightly used handgun. I am pretty happy with it so far, but I will still probably carry my PPS most of the time. I really wanted to love the g26/27 pistol, but it just didn't fit my hand well. I have handled them several times over the years, but just never got the warm fuzzy. For the owners of the XD.. is there any ammo that you have found it won't digest? I carry Gold Dots 124 gr +p in the PPS, so I was going to load the XD with the same.

    Rock,

I had an XD and I have to say that it was a good little shooter that was 100% reliable. The only reason I don't have it anymore was the high bore axis which a very minor issue for some folks. Enjoy!!

My XDSC isn't a picky eater at all. It'll eat everything I give it. It amazes me how fast it eats...or maybe it's the trigger finger that has a twitch!? :)

I carry mine 75% of the time....love it! If you get to the point of looking for extra magazines, they now make a 13 round mag that's exactly the same size & fit of the 10 rounder you got with it. Enjoy!

Thanks Snowman.. I just placed an order this afternoon for 3 of the 13 round mags, and 1 of the 16 round mags from Midway. They had the 13 rounders for $21, which seemed like an OK price.. the 16 was $30. I am used to Walther and H&K pricing on the spare mags, so anything would seem cheap.. :-)

Congrats...nice deal too. You will enjoy your XD9SC. I have had two different people buy one after trying mine out.

Seems like they are tough little pistols that eat anything. I have HTS's in mine now and carry it appendix in a Mr. Softy.

I'm needing to upgrade the sights, those Big Dots look like they may be the ticket. I put Mepros on my SP101 and now want to do all my carry pistols.

Enjoy your new 9mm and keep looking for a good deal on the 16 round mags.

I have 1000 rounds through mine without a single failure. I've had it for a little over a year.

Great feedback everyone.. thanks! I just ordered a crossbreed supertuck to carry it in. I have the same holster for my PPS, and really like the way it carries. I can't wait for the new holster and my 13 round mags to arrive!!!
