    A New York Question

I was not sure where to post this but picked the most viewed forum and expect it to get moved if needed.

I have looked at the "assault rifle" restrictions and the fact that in regard to magazines, .22 only high capacity are OK.

Since .22 AR-15s are popular now and were not in consideration when the statutes were written do .22 AR-15s fall in the OK area???

No, you can only get a magazine with a total capacity of 10 rounds no matter if it is a pistol or long gun... unless it was originally manufactured prior to 1994, and then you may have higher capacity mags. Online site will not ship illegal mags to NYS, and you can get in a world of trouble at the range if caught with one. Bunker

A tubular fed 22 rifle may have more than 10 rounds in NYS. That is the only exception I know of when it comes to 22 rifles.
And ofcourse pre Sep 1994 still applies.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I guess I lose out on annoying my son with a AR-15 .22 gift to my grandson.

I'm sure you can find him something else really nice.

NY is full of gun control politicians, please do what you can to vote them out asap.

Accuracy ALWAYS WINS! So carry what you can hit with.

If you find yourself in a fair fight your tactics stink.

you are correct... my marlin tube fed 22lr bolt action holds 17 rounds... but my Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 i could only get with the ten round magazine, and not the 25 round magazine.
