Smile Thoughts on Kimber Pro CDP II ?

I've been researching Commander size .45's this week to find the one I want. I've found a Pro CDP II locally that I can get a good buy on. It's an attractive pistol, but I would prefer the traditional "blued" look that won't stand out.

If any of you have experience with this model, please let me know the "Good, Bad, & Ugly".

I appreciate any help as I'm close to making my decision.

    Thanks

I have an Ultra CDP. Before I got it I thought the two tone was a little too much for my tastes. I normally prefer traditional blued as well. Now that I have it I love it. It's just so classy looking with the two tone and rosewood grips. I love the gun. It had a few FTF's in break in but now runs great. The 4" will likely run better off the bat.

    I like mine

I bought a slightly used Kimber CDP Pro II about a year and a half ago, and I like the gun. It is accurate and reliable, and feels good in my hand. I particularly like the "meltdown" treatment, which makes it very smooth and rounded for snagless concealed carry.

I modified mine slightly by replacing the cocobolo wood grip panels with black slimline Alumagrips, which cut 0.2 inches off the grip thickness, and make the gun look more subdued in appearance. I also replaced the ambi safety with a single sided thumb safety.

    I'd recommend the gun.

I have the 5" CDP II, very nice. It took between 250-300 rounds to start feeding where I would not worry about it. It's a tack driver. It took me over a year to finally get it. That was a couple of years ago. I know if I point this one at something, it's shot.

I have a Pro CDP ll. I really like it. Light to carry all day. The smooth radius edges are really nice. Sights are rounded & no sharp edges there either. I have nothing negative to say about mine. Never had a problem w/ it handling any factory ammo. Have used a wide variety of practice & personal defense. Night sights are good. You can't go wrong w/ it. My 2cents. Some think it worth about half that much.
    Carry 24-7 or guess right.

The first time I saw one I really liked it. I just kept putting off getting it. I don't carry the 5" as much as I do my 4" pistols. Guess I am going to have to start packing it more. Because I really do like it though.

I have the Eclipse Pro II and it is one of the best weapons that I have ever shot. I know that this is not the same model that you asked about but my Kimber has been totally accurate and dependable. Besides that it looks really sharp.

I have the Ultra CDP II and just finished the break-in with no problems whatsoever. I love it! Great fit & finish, great feel, and very accurate. Really a pleasure to shoot. Of course, now I just have to wait 4 months for my Max Con V . . .
    Cheers,

    Got it today...

I picked up the Pro CDP II this afternoon. I stipped it down & cleaned it good. I'll shoot it tomorrow & see how things go.

Thanks for all your help in my choice.

Run about three hundred rounds of FMJ before you start feeding it anything else. It should start running pretty well after that.

I have a CDP Pro that I like. It does not carry as well as my Kahr P9 but it is easier to shoot. The wife seems to have taken over the Kahr so I have been carrying the CDP a lot more lately and I have gotten used to it. Judging by my experience with the CDP Pro and a close friend has the slight less fancy version the Pro Carry, these seem to be good reliable carry guns.
