Would you buy a Kahr PM45c..

    .. If it existed?

It would be the smallest 45acp automatic made. It would be thinner, lighter, overall smaller in every dimension than a G26. The main difference between the standard PM45 would be that the PM45c would be about .5" lower in height and capacity at 4+1. Price about 1K.

    Here's a comparison of the PM45 vs. PM45c.

What we've got here is failure to communicate.

    I'd buy an LC9 instead.

Seriously, my EDC is a G26. I can't think of any reason to think 5 rounds of hard to shoot .45 would be better than 11 rounds of easier to shoot 9mmP. Everything I read says shot placement is more important than caliber. I can't imagine anybody who would get better shot placement with a PM45C than they would with a G26, an LC9, or a PM9.

Perhaps... I've never thought of the .45 as slower to get back on target than a 9mm. The G26 can't have all the fun.

I've been content with 5 rounds of 38 special, why not 5 rounds of .45?

The PM45c would be O/A smaller than a 442 j-frame and Just a few ounces heavier when fully loaded.

I have the PM9. I've never shot a PM45, or 40 for that matter. However, I have a G26 that I pocket carry (DeSantis Nemesis or Uncle Mike's #4)90% with the PM9 taking up the slack when circumstances (attire, locale) dictate. With a spare G19 mag I'm at 11 plus 15 on reload.

I'm for more rounds simply because BG's, like wolves, seem to travel together or in packs. Nothing against the snubby crowd, just my druthers.

Actually, the PM45c would be smaller... and lighter.

The AMT .45 is 5.7" long, 4.1" in height, 24oz in weight unloaded, and is only .01 smaller in width. It's still a pretty diminutive size auto and does come in 5+1 capacity. I understand the [double action only] trigger pull is around 15 pounds.

No, I don't think a two finger grip on a .45acp is adequate, at least not my two fingers. The smallest I'd go on a Kahr .45 is the P45. What I would consider is taking a TP45 and cutting it down to a P or even PM size. Now that would be a "covert" with some .45 omph.

    Absolutely not.

4+1 of .45 ACP is not enough. Even 8+1 in a 1911 is not enough. 10+1 is right on the brink and more is even better!

You clearly haven't factored in the weight of the gun. A full size .45 that weighs 30-40 ounces is a creampuff to shoot. But a PM45 that weighs 17oz is a monster by comparison. I'd guess it's like the difference between shooting .38 and .357 in your snubbie.

Nope, I couldn't shoot such a light and little .45 with any kind of decent results. Maybe the first shot but after that

If you're going to spend $1K on a pocket gun, at least get 7 shots of 9mm in a Rohrbaugh R9.

IMHO, 5 shots are not enough, unless you're firing 40mm grenades. Of the time a gun is drawn in self defense, 25% of the time there is 1 attacker, 50% of the time there are 2, and 25% of the time there are 3 or more attackers.

I subscribe to the concept of aimed burst fire, so 11 rounds in my G26 is about as low in capacity as I'm willing to go...and that is backed up by a spare mag and a BUG (7 shot LCP).

Plus, I've been down the Kahr road three times before. No more for me, thanks anyway.

I have a CW 45 and absolutely love it one of my coworkers has the PM 45. he has allowed to carry it in the shop. I found it to be very easy to carry. There will probably be a PM 45 in my future.
