San Francisco Chronicle Editorial Compares the Glock Handgun to the AIDS Virus !!

I guess that we all need to start wiping our hands real well after using our Glocks. According to this editorial in the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper this week, the Glock handgun is as deadly as the AIDS Virus.

The editorial writer evens adds further: "The guns ( Glocks ) don't teach children, provide clean drinking water or even help a senior across the street"

How can anyone own a handgun that fails to do any of those useful things for society?

The mindset in San Francisco is absolutely incredible. Here is a link to the full editorial:

Will you continue to carry a Glock, in light of these insightful revelations about the gun?

The author of the editorial, Marshall Kilduff, is soliciting feedback at: mkilduff@sfchronicle.com

    That's why I carry a 1911.

ok so maybe sometimes I carry a Glock but I always wash afterwards.

Do you think that it could be all of that polymer junk that is on the gun, that makes it so dangerous??

One interesting thing that was noted in the story is this: Glock exported 602,000 handguns just to the United States in 2009 ( the latest year that complete data is available for ).

Some of the readers' comments were "interesting" to say the least. That's usually where the fun lies...

It's truly amazing that there are so many highly educated idiots completely and utterly devoid of rational thought working as opinion leaders these days. I guess he has to pander to the readership of the San Francisco Chronicle to keep his job. Otherwise, I would say he must actually think that way! Oh, wait...

    Couple of points:
    1) It ain't all that concealable with a 33 round mag
    2) It didn't jam
    3) If the HIV virus had been bioengineered to save lives and was doing so, but was somehow hijacked by a psychopath and turned to nefarious purposes, I would still say it was engineered well for it's intended purpose.
    4) A Glock may actually help a senior across the street, depending on the neighborhood.
    5) I use mine as tool to teach my children gun safety, and how a firearm works.
    6) They got me on the clean drinking water.

He said,'Glocks kill',does this person believe guns are alive? And that dramatic statement, "the gun lives on'.I really do not get upset with this nuttery any more.Logic and reason escape some people. It is very simple, laws pertain to honest people, criminals do not obey the law.Laws never stop criminal activity.Laws do provide an avenue of punishment, after the fact.Glad I live in Texas.

The dude that said that the Glock was overpriced and unreliable, with a reputation for jamming, was one of the more entertaining comments to read.

I had to go to San Fran a few years ago for a meeting. The place is a hole. Bums, beggars, lunatics and druggies everywhere. We were in a big hotel downtown, and the staff warned us against going out at night (!).

I saw a woman who was having her young kid dance around in the street for money (he was good). But - why wasn't the kid in school? Why wasn't she arrested?

That city is a prime example of Liberalism run amuck.

Oh - and let's not forget that they banned toys in Happy Meals...because hamburgers kill, dontcha know...

People incapable of rational thought, naturally think that everyone else is in the same predicament.
