    Slim Hawg

I have been really impressed with my most recent gun purchase, a Para Slim Hawg, .45 ACP, 6+1.

I have had it to the range 4 times now. About 600 rounds so far, and perfect out of the box. It is wonderful to conceal, it's slim and light. It is accurate for a 3 inch barrel. It eats any ammo I load the mags with.

    I carry it in a C T.A.C. IWB holster.

I have 2 Para LTC's, 4.25 inch barrel 1911's, which have been great as well.

I expect I'll get some custom work done on the Hawg, trigger job and maybe some Wolf springs.

I highly recommend the Slim Hawg to anyone who wants to carry a small 1911.

    Here are recent pics :

I'd never heard of one before. Very nice. Please keep us up to date on it, as I am fond of little 45s.
And, as RR said, those are some wild grips! What are they and who made them?

Never saw one before,BUT....really like what I see. Thanks for posting. Mind saying what the MSRP on those is.

The MSH and front strap look great. Also the different colored, adjustable trigger. It hopefully has night sights.

The only thing lacking for me would be the ambi safety.

    Great lookin' weapon. ---------

Nice piece and good to hear for a very diminutive 1911 it has performed so well.

    Great for concealment.

    Questions

The price of a Slim Hawg averages around $750 - $850 on GunsAmerica.

Sorry, no night sights YET, but soon.

The grips are of Mastodon tooth ivory and made by Charles Spresser in Tennessee, he also makes knives.

I'm glad to have a small 1911 that functions perfectly.
I HATE plastic guns, no offense, just my preference.
This is as far as I can get from a Glock.

I'm glad you like it. I have WartHog the double stack version it the SlimHog. They are great lil performers. I've had zero problems with mine. And they are not hard to control at all. I don't know if anyone is making it yet for the single stack. I got a grip extender and a P14 mag from Brownells. That gives me a full sized grip if I want one. There may be something if you wanted to use a 8 round mag in yours, and not have the mag just hanging out.

    Sweet! Unusual grips too.

I have been wanting one of these. It will probably be my next purchase.

I wanted a colt defender until I found these. I'm glad to hear it has been reliable so far.

    Grip extension

Nope, nobody makes them yet but that's OK. I don't have huge hands so it fits me pretty well. To be honest, I shoot better with the Slim Hawg than I do with my 2 Para LTC's with 4.25 inch barrels.

I always carry an extra mag so in total I have 13 rounds. I figure if I can't get out of a jam with 13 rounds of 230 grain Hydroshoks the only thing that would have saved me would have been a squad of Green Berets.

I'm a real believer in shot placement. I like the motto, "slow is smooth and smooth is quick".

I can understand where you're coming from. The WartHog carries 10 in the mag and 1 in the pipe. I got the P14 mag to more or less have. It's not going to be that much of help to me if 21 is not enough.

    Lucky buggers!!
The dam gun is made here in Canada and we aren't allowed to own them!! Barrels must be 4" at least.

I look at these in the gun mags and just drool. I will have to suck up to someone who has one so I can try it out. next time I go South.
