Predict which one
A very good friend of mine has just got a carry permit he used one of my glocks to take the course.
Now he asked for my help in choosing his first gun for carry.
Here was my suggestions.
1. A 1911 full size 45acp
2. A sig sauer carry P220 45acp
3. A glock30 45 acp
He has experience with all of these cause he has been shooting mine.
These are the guns i usually carry.

Hmmm, I'd think he should decide for himself which is best for him, but a Glock, M&P, or XD would be fine in .45.

1911! I think most newer shooters lean towards them cuz of how shootable they are.
-
You said he was a good friend so I can only assume you said GLOCK...
-
If he's paying any attention at all he'll choose the GLOCK 30. Depends on how succeptable he is to the influence of others.

I have to go with Glock, for defensive purposes the simplicity of pull and shoot is a good thing under stress

Be aware that the Glock 30 has some issues that usually turn out to be nothing but on occasion could be disastrous, such as the trigger bar being grooved after repeated firing which may cause the gun to go Tango Uniform. It's a small sample issue, but you should confirm that it has a recent production date as Glock is not the best company when it comes to CS and is the primary reason I chose the Ruger SP101 over the G30 and G36.

$ & ease of use... Glock!!!!

Sig Sauer, without a doubt!

M&P.45 Compact 8+1, or full size hands 10+1 down. Once you shoot one you won't want another Block to uncomfortably hold.
it is very 1911 like. more so the full size.
here is the compact

From the choices listed I would say the G30. For my liking it was too wide. I would pick the smallest, narrowest firearm I could obtain.

I chose Sig P220, but I am a little biased. My reasoning for my choice was a full sized grip and the DA/SA trigger. I had 1911's before, but obviously did not practice enough with them to remember swiping the safety. The Glock 30 just doesn't fit my fingers well. I still want a G30, but will need to get some grip work done on it to remove the finger grooves.
