I have a chance to buy a nice Colt .380 Mustang Plus II for $600. I know that the market for these is up but I'm not sure if it’s worth it. What is your take on it? Should I or should I not?

In CA, you better buy anything and everything you can at any price. A bit of querying on Colt Mustangs should show the going price.

*It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
*Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
*We all got it coming

I love mine - it gets carried a lot and shot a lot. It is a great gun.
CA is tough on law abiding gun owners. We can not have most of the guns that are out on the market. Nothing that has a capacity of more than 10 rounds. No handguns that are not on an approved list. But my favorite what the F*** were they thinking law, No 50 BMG. Seems someone was afraid of an outbreak of convenience store robberies or drive-bys using a Barrett.
Buy it... nice ones I have seen are no less than 800.

You can get a nice New Glock for that much, but if you shoot it well and it fits your needs go for it![]()
They are sort of getting to be collectible items, so from that point of view go for it. They are decent enough pocket pistols but there are other choices out there that would cost less and maybe do the job.
I love shooting mine, but I think the world has turned since these were first introduced and the other pocket .380s are easier to conceal though not nearly as nice to shoot. The Mustang Plus II is a very nice gun to shoot.
Do keep in mind that if single action cocked and locked is something you feel uncomfortable with, this might not be for you.
Thanks guys. I think I am going to go for it. It is more for the collection side of the safe than anything else. Thanks for the help I appreciate all of your opinions.
Those Colt's are getting to be worth their weight in silver (I would say gold, but I know better). I have a Govt. model .380 and it's a great shooter. Also have a Pocket Nine and would't take under 1500 for it. If somebody offered me 1000 for the govt. model I would consider it.....Really, no I wouldn't. Love my Colts.

You could always sell it for a nice profit if you don't like it.......But you will like it if you shoot it.
