Left the P229 at home for the first time in a long time

So my wife and I took our daughter to Chuck-E-Cheese (otherwise known as the petri dish)over the weekend and now of course I woke up today sick.

Normally feeling the heft of a full sized gun on my hip is comforting but today I have really bad body aches. I followed my normal daily routine and put on my P229 in a Milt Sparks VMII after I got dressed. As I waited on my wife to get ready I sat on the couch watching the morning news and just couldn't get comfortable. The gun I normally forget about is poking me in the side and rubbing me the wrong way.

I went back to the gun safe, put away the P229 and pulled out the 9mm subcompact and my Crossbreed Supertuck. Much better!!!

I'm sure if the body aches are gone tomorrow the Sig will be back on my hip but for today I'm loving the polymer subcompact.

Well at least you still had yourself covered.

At least you didn't feel bad enough to go unarmed. I, myself, carry a polymer subcompact as an EDC.

For times like that, or really deep concealment, I have two LCPs...righty and lefty.

There are days my G23 just isnt on me because I am hot or irritable or whatever, wrong clothes etc. My M&P 340 is always waiting.
