    S&W Bodyguard .380? Redemption?

Express police supply has these on sale for a ridiculously low price of $269. I'm thinking of picking one up for my G/F but I was wondering if the bugs have been worked out. I know they had some serious problems early on.

Can anyone comment on this gun? Do you think it would be a good carry gun for my g/f?

I don't care for the location of the laser but no gun is perfect.

here is the link for the gun

I have one in the EAF serial number series made in late November 2010, and it's been flawless. It functions properly and is accurate with iron sights or laser.

That $269 price is only for Agencies.

    There's a $289 Pre-Order Price Tag if you are a First Responder. http://www.ombexpress.com/p_SW233.aspx

I saw one in person the other day, they're alot smaller and less bulky than they seem in pictures.

At that price ($289).....I'M interested. I'm not a huge .380ACP fan, but it'd be a decent little pocket gun. Something to get "church duty". Good thing I fall under "former LE" and "former military".

Not sure I could prove what I used to do so I guess I'm out of luck.

DD214 (or equivalent release papers from NG or RES)? State of GA gave us all P.O.S.T. certification cards. Is there something similar for EMS, EMT and Firefighters (obviously you have to have training and certification, there has to be proof somewhere)? A letter from your old dept? Plenty of ways to proof prior employment.

Actually I see that you're in GA. You can go to the GA POST website and request records if that was the certification body.

I thought I really wanted one as my next pocket pistol, but when I finally got to hold one and play with the laser setup, boy was I disappointed. Even my gun dealer was surprised how difficult it was to easily and positively light the laser, first time every time. We open three boxes that day and the operation of the laser button sucked all three. I could not possibly recommend that gun the way the laser is currently configured. Why they didn't setup the laser up like it is on my Ruger LCR, where when you grab the grip and the laser is on, no thinking or fumbling for the button and praying it actually lights up after you press it 6 or 8 times like we did that day.
