The Springfield EMP and Beretta PX4-SC..... are both great guns. Have both, and love them.

Kimber Ultra Aegis? Too spendy for me, but looks like a very nice carry gun.

Hey! What about the Sig P238? Its .380, but darn cool.

Colt defender, and definitely the CZ Rami great gun! I have a RAMI BD in 9mm and I love it.
Vermont does not issue Permit/Licenses to Carry a Concealed firearm. Vermont allows anyone
who can legally own a firearm to carry it concealed without a permit of any kind.

    How about the H&K P2000sk?

Take a hard look at the HK P2000 SK OP. I love mine, it's super accurate and dead nuts reliable.

    Good luck with your search!

I think the new LC9 from Ruger is hammer fired. They should be shipping pretty soon. I have only heard of one private owner review and he seemed to like it.

Yes, the LC9 has a shrouded hammer, and is a DA only sub-compact.

The Beretta PX4 Compact is quite heavy and bulky. And an HK is going to very expensive indeed. The CZ Rami would be a much more affordable alternative.

All CZ pistols are well built guns. Here are models with factory wood grips:

And here is one in a High Noon Holster:

You can see here how much smaller the RAMI is compared to a full size CZ 75:

If you want a lighter gun, the RAMI is also available with a polymer frame. And CZ has extended mags available for it too, that hold 14 rounds, and extend the gun's grip:

3913 Smith and Wesson may be the best 9mm carry gun ever.

The larger gun is not a full-size CZ 75. It is a P01. It has the rails, the decocker and a shorter barrel.

By the way, Dave, I like external hammers too. The only pistol I have that doesn't have an external hammer (other than a pocket pistol) is my Steyr M357.

+1 to this. Folks report buying LEO-used 3913s that are near-perfect and not expensive. 3913 owners seem to love them, and former-owners regret trading them.

Check the Sig P290 at the Sig site. It is as good as it gets (not for sale yet). It is only .90 inches wide and weighs 20 oz.

I'm in the PX4 subcompact, and the CZ camp.

Both appear to be in the $500-600 range acording to G broker.
    That poly rami looks interesting.

As a side note, the posts that are saying S&W 3913, may have something.
I had a 39-2 for a long time. Solid, unbelievably accurate.
