    S&W 629...good price?

Been wanting a 629 .44 mag for a while, I'm in no hurry but I came across two locally today and I'm wondering if you guys think I should jump on one of them or keep looking for a better deal.

    1. Used 629 4" barrel good condition $650
    2 Used 629 6" barrel good condition $760

Besides looking on gun broker I'm not sure what a good price for a used one in good condition is. What do you think? Steep or no? Probably will become another camping/woods gun.

    Joe,
My brother just bought a 29 recently off gunbroker over the summer 2010, and paid just under $600 for it, then shipping and FFL transfer took it to around $635.
It had a 6 in barrel, and was near mint, from a LEO in Colorado somewhere. It probably was a safe queen.

I'd jump if you have the cash, and its what you want.

There is a brand new 4" S&W 629 on sale on gunbroker for only $709

    http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=216104922

And a brand new 6" for the same price:

So for just a few more dollars, you could get a brand new gun.

There are also two brand new 5" 629's available for sale too, if you want a barrel length in between the 4" and the 6":

I'm with you Lance....unless its something rare / old or its a great deal I'd rather buy new than something that only saves me a few dollars.
