I handled another ten times because I was still intrigued... I wanted to like it. In the long run... I really did, but decided on the defender in the end. For me, having low profile sights on the gun vs. only a trench site seemed like an easy decision. But that new agent sill intrigues me for the sleek carry, less than 7 yard point and shoot carry gun that it is. I am sure it can be far more accurate than that with a little practice. It deserves a look for those in the hunt... She may be the mistress to defender. :)
Had the same opportunity to examine the two side by side. For me it was two factors against the New Agent. The weight and the lack of ability to put night sights on it. I haven't done that yet but I wanted to be able too. Its probably not a big point now as I have sort of progressed to mostly Point and Shoot practice these days but it was at the time. I didn't like the wrap around grip of the Defender that much but that was an easy fix.

Congratulations on the Defender OP. It's a very fine pistol.

It's hard to beat a Colt IMO.

I have it's cousin, a New Agent and have been very pleased with it's accuracy and reliability.

(The trench sights took about two magazines to get used to BTW.)

Please give us a range report when you can.
