    Beretta width, 84 vs 85

Does anyone own both a beretta cheetah 84 and 85? None of my local shops have them and I'm curious as to the difference in width between the single and double stack.

Pics would be great if you've got 'em!

I have the 85, can't say about the 84. The grip on the 85 is small - it is a small pistol overall, but large for a .380.

BTW, the 85 is the gold standard of .380 pistols. Solid, quality build, unbelievably accurate, and reliable. Somewhat dated design, but a great pistol.

The 84 and 85 are identical in every way except the grip thickness. I no longer have my 85 to compare with my 84, but the difference is about 1/4" more to accomodate the stagger stack 84 mag. It is a decernable difference, but not drastically so. IMHO, if you like the 84 grip, you will also like the 85.

I have an 84FS. The fit and finish are just beautiful and the pistol is very accurate.

The 84FS is pretty heavy and the controls are very small and can be difficult to work.

If someone was wearing gloves, trying to run this piece could be a problem.

I put mine in the safe and replaced it with a 9mm Walther PPS, FWIW.

    Just my experience, YMMV.
