I would be amazed if anyone can come up with a legitimate excuse for owning this piece other than collectors value.
The only way it would be deadly is if you shot somebody in the head with it, but nobody would even believe it was a gun until you shot them. This pretty much relegates its usage to sneak attacks by wannabe assassins.
