Can the Springfield GI 45 be upgraded or have better sights installed by a gun smith? I am getting one from a co-worker for 250 who needs cash. I figured for 250 how can you beat a basic .45 right?

Yes, you can get better sights. You can have a GI turned into THIS if your wallet can back up your heart's desires.
At that price, take it regardless of sites.
I paid something like $550 for mine so you're already ahead of the game. Gunsmith can do anything you want to it but they're great shooters stock if your eyesight is good.

Better grab that GI 45 fast. Nothing like a Springfield 1911...

At that price I was looking to see if you were in a neighboring state, just in case you decided you didn't want it.![]()

When I bought my Mil-Spec, it had similar sights on it as the GI has. I had the slide milled so it would accept Trijicon night sights. That was my first upgrade. Some of the best $$$ I have spent on that pistol.
If you can't get out of it, you gotta get into it.
My job requires me to be armed as much of the time as possible. No, I am not an operator or LEO of any kind. I am a husband and father.
how much did you pay to have the sights milled to put the Trijicons in?
