What I carry doesn't matter. What does matter is that you carry what fits your hand, you properly break in, and you practice with. If it is not comfortable, not functioning properly, and you don't practice then don't bother carrying.

A revolver is a no brainer but if you choose a semi-auto you break it down and lube it, rack the slide a couple hundred times, break it down and clean it, finger polish the slide and ramp with a rag and jewlers' rouge, lube it, and take it to the range. Fire a hundred rounds, clean it, lube it, and fire another hundred rounds. I will not carry a semi-auto which hasn't had a couple hundred rounds through it. When you are comfortable that it will not jamb then while unloaded pratice where you will carry it and getting to it without shooting yourself.

I have reduced my handgun collection to a G21, G30, Colt Detective Spl, S&W 440, S&W 60, S&W 340PD, S&W 351PD, Kel-Tec P3AT, and a Kahr P380. Prior to retiring and moving closer to the equator (and only wearing shorts and t-shirts) my daily carry for years was a J-Frame. Living in an area where very light/skimpy clothing is prevalent the lessor ballistics of a .380 won't be hindered by jackets, sweaters, coats, etc; so I properly broke in a Kel-Tec P3AT (which I carry in my front pocket in a "Ross" rough-out leather pocket holster) which has been my constant companion for the laslt 3 years; and am now breaking a new Kahr P380.

Well, I've seen this post several times now....might as well throw my two cents in. I've carried a Colt Commander, Glock 36, Glock 19, Glock 32, Colt New Agent, RIA Compact, Glock 30, Kel Tec PF9, Metro Arms American Classic Commander, and currently I alternate between a Colt Commander and a Glock 30.

Interarms PPK/S in a DeSantis IWB, or Galco executive, alternitive is my S&W mod 15 snub that I converted from square butt to round. extra mag for the PPK/S and two safailand speed loaders for the Smith.

I have owned these two for years and they are the ones I am most confident with, plus either is an easy carry for me as I have gained a little weight over the years.

I carry a Colt Commander in 45 cal 95% of the time in a N82 Professional Tactical Holster, the holster is new and the commander I've had since the early 1980s if not in the N82 then it is housed in a Blackhawk serpa tactical. The other 5% of the time I'm squared away with a Springfield V10 ultra compact 45 cal in a Safariland Thumb break OWB holster waiting on a N82 Professional Tactical for it.
All Concealed, I've other pistols and revolvers as well but seldom carry them for self defense; I however train with all of them for proficiency should the need arise.

SR9c in a N82 Professional. Thinking of getting another one though. Maybe a SR40c or a Springfield XDm .40 or .45acp.

I carry an XD40SC in a CBST @ 4:00 during warmer months. In jacket weather I switch to a blackhawk serpa paddle holster occasionally, or a shoulder rig.
