Very succinct and well made review. Interesting discussion of the trigger - appreciate that. This pistol is high up on my 2011 purchase list.

    Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks! The APEX trigger is indeed a nice improvement.

The video quality here is excellent. What camera did you use to make this SnareMan??

Instead of fiddling with the take down lever, one can simply pull the trigger instead, and proceed with the take down.

Yeah I typically do the same. Then it takes down just like a Glock

OK, I must be missing something, but that doesn't seem to work for me. Push that little lever inside forward then pull the trigger and slide the slide forward? Or is there another step in there that I'm missing?

Thanks. I'm using a Canon T2i. I hadn't seen a lot of HD vid reviews of it so I thought I'd make one. I'm thinking about getting an HD camcorder for future reviews, but my DSLR does HD video pretty well on its own until I can justify the purchase of a camcorder.

Cool, I heard that the Canon T2i takes great video, and this confirms it.

Regarding take down, I used bad terminology, which probably made my remarks sound confusing, or even come across as nonsense.

I meant to refer to the sear deactivation lever that is inside the mag well. You can skip fiddling with it, and instead just pull the trigger on the gun, just the same way that one has to do with a Glock. And then use the take down lever on the frame to be able to slip the slide off.

Sorry about messing up so badly in my earlier remarks.

Thanks for the clarification. So you're saying to push the take down lever and the trigger at the same time and then slide it off? I don't know about your gun, but the take down lever on mine is darn hard to push. Maybe you can see that I struggled with doing it with just my thumb in the video. It would be great if I could flip it into the down position and have it stay there.

I don't think he was snare man:

    1) Ensure gun has mag removed, empty chamber
    2) Ensure gun has mag removed, empty chamber
    3) Ensure gun has mag removed, empty chamber
    4) Lock slide back
    5) Flip take down lever on side of gun (do not need to pull trigger @ same time)
    6) Let slide go forward
    7) Pull trigger
    8) Pull slide rest of the way off the frame.

No, you pull the trigger first, exactly the same way one disassembles a Glock.

I have a FS and a compact. My FS has the mag disconnect on and you have to flip the lever inside to release the sear. on my compact you can just pull the trigger to release the sear.

Have had the compact for three weeks and love it. I modified the large backstrap by removing the the beavertail part of it and did a starburst stipple job on it and the front strap. Just put all the apex parts in tonight along with Dawson sight. I am very happy with the way it shoots and carries sooo much better then my FS.
