    That is one of the checks an armorer will do to check if the firing pin channel is clear and the pin is moving freely.
    With the gun unloaded and pointed in a safe direction you pull the trigger and hold the trigger back. You shake the gun back and forth
    and you will hear the pin moving in the channel. You can also check it with the slide off by pushing the firing pin safety and shaking it. The
    firing pin safety is the silver button right below the extractor.

    My Glock 36 has a quiet rattle & I've never dropped mine.

    when my glock 19 is chambered the magazine will rattle cause there are only 14 rounds in the magazine and the 15th is in the chamber, i just found that out yesterday.

    I just checked to see if my 23 does it, if it does have a rattle I cant hear it. I tried it with a mag, without, loaded and unloaded. Maybe the Gen 4 is different?

    That's what I was thinking. If I'm gonna drop one, it may as well be a Glock. I love 'em, but they aren't exactly BBQ guns. Actually, I skipped my LCP off the basement floor last year and that was no biggie either (after I changed my drawers).

    Its the famous "Glock rattle". All my Glocks do it. Nothing to worry about.
