    Ruger LCR sights

I am looking at replacing the front side blade on my Ruger LCR .357. I want a front sight that offers greater visibility. I know that Crimson Trace grips are a great option and I plan on adding them in the future as budget allows. In the mean time I just want to get a good, high visibility front sight blade. Any suggestions?

Fear the man with one gun. Especially if that gun is a Glock 19.

Here's what I did to mine.... A couple of bucks at the hobby store and some dry time was all it took. It works very well and has been on for months now without showing any signs of wear.

I can pick up the front sight way faster than before, and even in low light conditions, it's loads better than the standard one that came on it. The crappy Iphone pics really don't do it justice. The color is a flat Red that almost has a neon color in normal lighting conditions.

I painted my front sight white but it didn't help much. Eventually I will buy one of these.

The XS sight is offered on some LCR's in addition to the boot grip. I prefer my Hogue Tamer but I would like this sight eventually.

They are fiber optic so they will pick up light and appear very bright if light is present. In the dark I am not sure if it would be much of an improvement over the stock sights, but during the day it should be much easier to see.

I have the standard dot XS site on mine. Last I checked they don't offer the big dot for the LCR. It is an improvement, but I wish there was a way to put on a rear nite site as well.

I put the Hi-Viz on my LCR and Im very happy with them.

They are not a night sight, they are just like the stock sight at night.

Thanks for the suggestions. Would y'all recommend the Novak night sights over the XS night sight? I wish the XS big dot was available, but as far as I know only the standard dot is available. Also is this something I can replace myself or do I need to have it installed professionally? I know the Ruger site says professional installation is needed but they say that for everything. Thanks for the help!

You can do it yourself easily in a few min. The front sight is pinned on and all you need is a small punch to knock the pin out, place the new sight on, and tap in the new pin. Piece of cake!

I'm not sure if Jermedic is referring to the HiVIZ or the XS sight but I've heard the XS sight can be a bit more time consuming to change than 3-5 minutes as others have suggested.

here is an excellent link I found.
