Thumbs up New (to me) HK P7 and TT Gunleather IWB

I stumbled across this at the local robber baron (pawn shop/gun shop) while posting fliers for a class and I decided that it should come home with me and not have to stay in such an unsavory place. It was on lay-a-way for a while, but I sprung it early yesterday as my snag from TT Gunleather was due in yesterday or today.

When I found the gun I started searching for a new IWB with a reinforced opening as I plan on wearing the rifling out on this gun, or rather trying to in IDPA and maybe a class or two. I had been keeping tabs on TT Gunleather's in stock items page and came across a RH, black, rough out front panel, reinforced IWB for a P7 on Monday and managed to beat a few people to the deal. This will probably end up being my summer gun/8-5 gun as well.

The HK was probably a "C" grade refurb. that a dealer had refinished as they've been popping up here and there, a nice change since I bought by West German "B" Grade in '07 is that this one came with two mags, also refinished in nickel.

    Any way, here's the pics.

Overall my initial impressions of this holster are better than the IWB I ordered from TT several years ago, the quality of the hide seems better. The stitching is immaculate and the finish is quite nice and uniform. There's on dimple in the reinforcement panel, but that's superficial.

The two things that bother me about this holster, and TT's in general are the single screws on the loops, which will loosen and wobble over time, Sparks uses two screws. A little Loctite on the threads should prevent that. And the metal band showing through the panel, it's simply aesthetic but it would be an even more beautiful rig if the band were better hidden.

Great find on an exceptional pistol and holster!!! I really like the two-tone finish, it looks classier to me.

I had a chance to hold a P7 at the last show I attended. The natural pointability attribute of the Piece was amazing.

BTW, TT Gunleather is The Cat's Meow.

    CONGRATS on the combo.

I love the finish on the gun...much prettier than the standard black finish.
