    Trade in Value for G19

I really like my G19 but after 20 months of EDC, I think I want something smaller and thinner. I already have a S&W 642 which I love as a EDC or BUG.

I was thinking of something like a Kahr CM9.

So here are my two questions:

What is a rough estimate of a trade in value on a Gen 3 Glock 19 (scale of 1-10, 10 being new I would give it a 8.5)?

Would trading a Glock for a Kahr be a bad idea?

$260-300, you're much better off keeping it and saving for the Kahr in my opinion and you might want another Glock down the road and kick yourself in the butt for trading it in.

Like cars, a trade-in will net you less than an outright sale to an individual. I have seen lightly used Glock 19s go for well over $400.

I come down on the side of LoadedPipes on this one. The Gen 3 Glock is arguably the best combat pistol ever made. I own one myself.

Many folks I know have woken up a few years after a deal and said, "Dang, if I had only hung on to that <insert gun make/model here>." My advice would be to keep the Glock and save up for the Kahr.

I would definitely tuck the G-19 away...you'll regret selling it.

if there is no rust you can sell it here on DC in no time. Price it at $375 + shipping and it will sell in a day or two.

With that said, I'd keep it.

Do what you want, it's only a Glock. It's not like there are not a gazillion other G19's to take it's place.

I probably will just keep it and save. I saw a CM9 at my local gun shop and I really wanted it. I am sure you all know how it is when you go to the "toy" store.

One gun shop said $350 trade in. Used Glocks in my area seem to go for $50-$100 off MSRP.

I have a set of Twin G-19's that I will never part with. I am always in acquisition mode not selling mode!

Trading on the newest hot item on the market? You're going to lose your backside on the deal. 3-350 is what you'll get out of a dealer on a good day. Even though its not what you asked, I agree with everyone else. Save your G19 and your money.

G19's are kinda sought after for concealed carry, you could get a better deal from a private sell, but your gonna regret it someday when you may want to pack a gun with a larger mag capacity
