Well, I mean, with Rugers, aren't you supposed to wait a few years, until the design gets the bugs worked out?

Wait a minute, that design has been out for a few years, I am confused.

I'll be watching... hopefully they leave off Rugers typical "warning label" off the slide.

Was wondering how long it would take someone to post about this. Read about it early yesterday morning. I'm a Ruger fan but I doubt I'll be getting one of their 1911s anytime soon seeing as how there are already 3 45s in the house.

Yea, I wonder how many safety devices Ruger can cram into a 1911?

The other side of the slide probably has 8 paragraphs worth of warnings along with a huge loaded chamber indicator that takes up 3/4 of the slide.

    Not for me.

Although I am a huge 1911 fan I think I will pass on this one. It might be a very good 1911, but for some reason the name "Ruger" on a 1911 does not feel quite right. Of course, that is a totally subjective opinion.

Perhaps it gets some trigger safety "À la Glock"

This may create a problem for me; I do not have a 1911, never wanted a 1911; but I love Rugers.... I think I will be able to fight it off I sure hope Glock does not make a 1911 And if so I will know it was a conspiracy!

I almost fell (this weekend) when I saw Desert Eagle's version of the 1911 at the gun show in Norfolk, but decided to save for a FN 9mm HP, and a new M1 Grand (my next two gotta haves)..... Not sure what is going on... perhaps it is the 100th birthday or something but the 1911 is starting to slip into my thoughts more and more....

It's a Taurus I found that picture the other day when looking up the 1911. Some guy made it a couple years ago said he wanted to see what a Ruger 1911 would look like in stainless and with all the crap they always write on the gun. Or that's what the poster said of the picture anyway.
