Been said, but I'll put my $0.02 in. Very finicky with ammo and LOTS of FTF. Would not trust my life to it. My EDC is a Para P12.

I researched Para within the last couple years and one of the 1911 forums was chock full of horror stories about their customer service.

...Exactly, you need to be able to trust your life to it!

Most seem to agree that it is not the best choice for a 1911. I suspected so but wanted to be sure. I'll stick to buying my G26 for now.

Thanks to everyone for your comments.

I had a LDA 45 Carry. It was sent back for repair 4 times in less than a year. I sent them a letter the last time on how I have never seen or had a lemon like this Para. They had me send it back and claim they are going to send me a new gun. As soon as I get the new gun I am going to dump it. I am not going to take it out of the box. It is going up for sale as a new gun at a Gun Show. I WILL NEVER BUY A PIECE OF CRAP PARA AGAIN. Buy at your own risk.

Had a p-10 everytime I shot it my support hand would hit the mag release and drop my mag. Not worth the price.

This is a phenomenal carry against a single attacker. It fires once, jams and then you throw it at the second attacker. it's solid construction should take him out, so as long as there is not more than two attackers, you should be all set. Otherwise you'll be dead unless you are also carrying something reliable.

And don't worry about customer service and getting it fixed, because they do not answer email.

I have a warthog, it;s a wonderful firearm, I have polished the integrated feed ramp and have no trouble with it and it feeds anything I put in it. I will tell you do not know much about the 1911 format and how to address some of the issues with them and the double stack clips you need to look at something else.

I had one but it didn't last after one range trip. I had a heck if a time holding on to it. It seemed to require more hand strength than I had. Probably due to shorter AND fatter grip. Sold it!

I've seen three of them at shooting ranges. None of them would shoot a whole magazine without a problem.
