I currently have nine pistols which are either Government issued M1911, M1911A1, or Colt Government Model (one in Super .38), Colt (LW) Commander and one Gold Cup in .38 Special. Other than that, I have two more .45 ACP handguns, a cut down 1917 S&W and a SIG-Sauer P220.

So far, I haven't ventured off into the new manufacturers.

I just bought my first 1911, a SW1911TA. It's cleaned and lubed and ready to devour 500 rounds to break it in. I'm looking forward to carrying it.

just one, full size colt 1991A1 stock other than a trigger job, "out of box was 11 pounds!!!" and a full length guide rod from accusystems. Out of business I believe. neat little thing though, the grip end has two hooks that put put pressure on the link taking up all slack, really cut the group size down.
A 1911 is Not an obsession, it's simply a recognition that it's THE Gun. :-) All others are runner ups. And hey, if all else fails, aim for the nose and fling it to knock out your foe. Let's see y'all do that with a kel-Tec. ;-)

None...I learned to shoot 45's on the absolute original 1911 as a kid in the 50's. My father was military and he had one in the house. I also saw me an original M1 at the rifle range the other day. My first car was a 57 chevy 2 door. Wow how time changes things!

I have 1 too many. It is a Springfield Armory 1911. My sponsor gave it to me when I became a citizen. It simply won't shoot reliably enough to carry. Jambs on feed, jambs on extraction, sometimes goes click, but no boom until recocked and fired. I keep it as a keepsake. It is not a weapon.
English is my second language, I have been told my use of it is harsh, apologies if this is the matter.

1 Colt Gvmt. from the 50's, 1 Remington Rand, 1 S&W Pro Series in 9mm and 1 Kimber Classic Target (pre-II).
Also, an Ace 22 conversion from the 50's too.

With a forum name like 19ElevenJoe I had better have at least one and that one is a SW1911TA. This is a ton of 1911 for the money, sweet sweet shooter. I'm in the market for two more 1911's, let the fun begin.

I just added another one. Picked up a Kimber Super Carry Ultra the other day. First outing at the range with 100 rounds thruogh it and I'm in love! Shoots straight, flawlessly, and like a dream!
    Cheers!
