    got my model 36!!

    100_0162.jpg100_0163.JPG100_0165.jpg100_0166.jpg100_0167.JPG

found a 1983 model 36 at the gun show, traded my PM9 for it. The Kahr was a sweet shooting little gun, but had some jams and things showing up every now and then long after break in that just made me realize I would never really feel comfortable with carrying it.

This one seems really nice. It feels every bit as tight as my new 642 and the bore and cylinder are nice and bright. Blue's just got just the smallest amount of wear on the front, but the thing looks and feels like it never got used much.

Love carrying my 642, and this will work with the holster I made and everything, just needs it's own little laser. Weighs in at 22 ounces loaded.

Might get to hit the range later, we'll see how it goes.

Great looking Chief's Special! The square butt variations shoot so well too.

Does the square butt make it a chief's special? or is that all 36's?

A Model 36 is a "Chief's Special", regardless of grip contour.

Looks like it has seen enough use to build it some character.

I want to start buying older model S&W's, I just never seem to find good deals.

I love those! First short barrel revolver and first S&W I ever shot was a Cheif's special, congrats.

    Nice little gun...

I found one of these model 36's about two years ago, unfired in the original box, and with the round butt configuration. It was $450 and I have kept it in the unfired state as a collector's item. It is an attractive little gun.

    Nice carry piece! Enjoy!
I have the "round butt" version with a bobbed hammer (DAO) that I have carried 16-18 years. Picked it up used on a local sheriff's auction of surplus equipment.

Nice find! Those older guns just seem to have a look of quality about them.
