    Nothing is infalible, but... revolvers still have it far above semi's.

    AMEN brother. Sounds like a broken spring. I would order a set from Wolff and either replace them myself or pay a gunsmith $50 for the VERY easy job. You think a recoil spring on a semi would last 30 years?

    doubt it's the trigger stud,if the trigger has any rebound at all and moves freely it's probably the sear. Most likely the sear spring came out or you have some corrosion issues and the sear stuck to the rear.
