Considering that the pull length is the only safety feature on the pistol (other than the drop safety), I should think not.
The more good folks carry guns, the fewer shots the crazies can get off.

    The safety is the operator.

It took me a few range trips to get the feel of the trigger and I don't think you can do that looking at guns in a shop. It has a long pull, but when I learned the take-up distance and break point, it became easy to shoot and accurate for such a small weapon.
Chose a weapon that goes bang EVERY time!

I agree - I run Glocks, a Kahr, and LCPs - all are DAO with no thumb safety. However, stress and the startle response are real issues, and I don't think you want a short "hair trigger" on a defensive handgun. JMHO, YMMV.

Shorter yes, like a 1911, but definitely not a hair trigger. A friend that I shoot with put a 3.5 lb. disconnect in his G19 and I told him that I would not want to carry it.

I think it's the perfect trigger (feel and type) for dedicated CCW but it's really how it feels to you. Now if you've been shooting 1911's then it'll feel like a country mile long pull and spongy but compared to your averge DAO I think you'll find it lighter, cleaner and even shorter than many if not most.
