    used carry gun

Would you ever carry a pistol you purchased used, and had proven reliable. But the history was not known other then to say it was purchased from a reputable dealer. I guess my concern would be if maby the internals had been changed like a trigger jobor something that could get you in trouble in court. If it was ever needed in a self defence situation..

I do frequently carry a PM9 which I purchased used. It probably had less than 50 rounds through it by the first owner. I haven't had one problem from it.

As long as it has proven itself, I say go for it. If it's been through a reputable dealer, that usually means that it's not stolen, or been used for anything else... 'unsavory'.

The local cop shop can run the serial, if that's an issue. I sure hope the gun I bought NEW will be 100% reliable, but you know what they say about mechanical things, "If it has wheels, gears, moving parts, or high heels, it's going to blow up on you no matter how well you take care of it."

While all of my hand guns were bought brand new I have yet to purchase a new long gun. All of mine were bought used and I have never had an issue. If I came across a deal on a good used pistol after it went through the same tests I put a new gun through I would carry it.

Yeah, used guns are not an issue. I do have a personal rule I follow though; No used guns that have had "custom" work done to them. They must be in factory stock form. Then, I treat the used gun just the same as I would a new one. I run it hard to prove everything works, and I probably would go ahead and replace all the wear parts if the round count is questionable.

I would, I have and I do. It's surprising how many people buy a gun for self defense, shoot it a time or two for familiarization and then put it in a drawer or safe without further use for sometimes years. Find one of these guns for sale and you're getting a nearly un-used gun. I've had great luck with used guns. I take them to the range and put them through enough paces to satisfy myself as to reliability and then have no problems trusting such a gun for carry.

YES! If still in good shape and from a reputable manufacture go for it! Let someone else "break it in" with the price of ammo going up.
