The Taurus Tracker is a smaller profile and holds only five rounds, but it is a lot slimmer than some others.
This is a discussion on I'm thinking of a wheelie but it has to be a .45 within the Defensive Carry Guns forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; The Taurus Tracker is a smaller profile and holds only five rounds, but it is a lot slimmer than some others....

You could always go .357 in a 3 or 4 inch and load .38 +P's if the .357 was too much. I am starting to lean toward revos also because although you are limited in immediate rounds, other than reloads, you can pretty bet the farm that it is going to go bang every time. Now, I do have a .45 Milspec, but it is rarely carried.

I carry a Ruger Redhawk 45 5 1/2 barrel. It's in a Bianchi X-15 or fanny pack carry.
Lew Horton put out a small 1 1/2 barrel 625 with a scadium frame in 45ACP with a titanium cylinder and 45 colt with a stainless cylinder. They show up NIB on the auction sites regularly.
My son carrys a 325PD a good bit. A friend carries the 2" S&W 45ACP. I like the 44 Special and carry a 296 or 396 and a 329PD.
Keep the shotgun handy!!
I think the Taurus 455 in .45 ACP has been discontinued....I think.
I'd get the S&W offering only because the moon clips are more durable and readibly available. I have a Taurus 905 9mm 5-shot revolver and those "stellar" moon clips are less than stellar.

I just picked up the 625-8 and have to agree it's a tad large for carry, however a good Smithy can chop the bbl, bob the hammer and bobtail it for you...
