    Shooting replacement Public Defender Polymer

I had cracked the frame on my Taurus Public Defender Polymer and sent it back to Taurus. After 9 weeks, Taurus finally sent me the replacement.
The replacement was a newer version than the one I broke, there were a couple of minor updates and it is a slightly better gun than the one I sent in.
I got out today to shoot and test it. It worked great, I shot Remington #6, #4, Federal OOO Buck, Winchester PDX1, Hornady Leverevelution 45LC, and Federal 45LC.
Everything fired with no problems. The birdshot loads would be fine for snakes, but useless for defensive use. The Federal OOO Buck is the load I keep in it for carry, they group well under 15 yards, and will penetrate 4 gallon jugs in my tests. I like the Winchester PDX1, but the BBs in it spread too far for me to use it for defense. Recoil with all loads is stout, but not painful.
Here is the video of some of the loads I shot.

Thanks for the video. Groups seem to hold together well. I have a Judge and like it. One thing that has come out of Taurus building this series of pistol is the advancement of the 410 shot shell. They have made some great strides in a short period of time.
We will be much better off when we learn to deal with things as they really are, instead of how we wish them to be!

Very impressive! Does quite a job on milk jugs, doesn't it! Excellent grouping at 25 yards with the 45 lc.

Good luck with the new Taurus . About how many rounds had you fired before you discovered that the frame was cracked?

I had only fired about 75 rounds when the frame developed a crack. It looked like a casting flaw rather than a desighn problem.
