    My first full size revolver

I've owned a few revolvers in the past but all have been small frame. I picked up my first full size wheel gun today, that being a lightly used Smith & Wesson 686P 357 Magnum. It was between this one or the Ruger GP100 but the S&W holds one more round over the GP100. I've always wanted a full size wheel gun with a 4" barrel, so I finally got around to crossing that one off my gun want list. This particular 686P has a green fiber optic front sight which I haven't seen on too many other 686s. I cannot wait to get out and see how 357 Magnum feels in a full size gun. I know it's interesting through guns like the Taurus 617 and Ruger SP101 because I used to own those two guns! Now for the eye candy!

Nice gun...a real 357. I bet with 180gr Federal Cast Cores it'll take care of anything. Let us know how it is to shoot for you.

A 686 with a 4" barrel is a nice gun. It practically aims itself when you pick it up and the triggers are sweet. Where's the pictures?

I LOVE revolvers...you can't have just one. My last revolver purchase was a big ol single action .44 Magnum. There's nothing quite like shooting and carrying a big ol honkin hog leg. Congrats, and I hope you enjoy shooting it. Revolvers are a refined skill and they are truly enjoyable weapons.

You choose well! The Ruger is a fine choice, but I would rather have a S&W any day of the week.

I just recently bought a Taurus 66. Those .357 4" revolvers sure are fun to shoot. Enjoy!
