Springfield Armory XD40 subcompact. Reliable as all get out and very accurate too for a 3". It fit my hand better than the Glocks. I like the chambered round indicator and the grip safety. It is also ambidexterous if you are a lefty. Comes with 2 mags, 9 and 12 to adjust for concealment. I love the ease of field strip. My other EDC is 9mm Walther PPS. It also comes in .40 and is a single stack so it's very thin for carry. Get your hands on a few a shoot 'em to see what you like.

My vote would be for the Beretta PX4SC. It shoots well and you will not find a better sub compact.

Yea you can do better than a PX4 Beretta. IMO. That would be the Daddy of all CCW .40s...The GLOCK 27.

I would start with Glock 27 or CW40 and see how you like their feel and how they shoot. These are two good choices, IMO, to get you started in your search.

Could you be any more vague?

Do you like striker fired guns? DA/SA? DAO? Polymer vs metal?

Try to be more specific in what you want other than caliber.

It would be like me asking if anyone could recomend some good ground transportation to me.

I'd vote for the SA XD40 SC, that's what I bought.

I highly recommend and carry the S&W M&P 40c in a Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC inside the waistband holster.

CW40 or CZ RAMI in .40. The CW is going to be lighter and easier to conceal. The RAMI has a higher magazine capacity and is a DA/SA pistol that can be carried condition 1.

I could not agree more. Also, a Glock G27 is another nice option. I have the XD40 and love it. I also have the Glock G26 (9mm) that I extremely partial to.

I have the Minotaur for my S&W40c (AKA .357 sig)

But prefer the AKJ for slightly better concealment

I would consider the Springfield Armory XD40 subcompact, as sigs suggested except that there is no gun of S&W quality with a shorter butt which is a problem spot for concealment.
