Just after the new year I purchased a Taurus TCp738 for pocket carry. It was small, light and hid very well in either front or rear pockets... I fired a few hundred rounds through it and performed at about 90%, it just continued to have issues with feeding certain ammunition and with a new magazine it usually hung up and always required that that extra umph! to return to battery. Then I got the itch for a commander size 1911 and went window shopping, with no one in town having the model I was looking for or the ability to order it... So as I was perusing my favorite gun shop I came across a deal I couldn't pass up. A brand new S&W 442 in .38special, no lock for $379! The owner and I discussed it for a few and later that day I returned with the 738, traded it along with a full box of ammo and in return I walked out with a great revolver and two boxes of ammo for $300... My gain! Enjoy...
The 442 is a nice gun. Enjoy.

You are only paranoid until you are right - then you are a visionary.
You'll like the Smith for carrying. Thin, light and easy to conceal almost anywhere.

She's a beauty. Good trade.
With all due respect, for the difference of $79 you could have two guns now, not just one.

i disagree, he had a gun that was malfunctioning, he saved some money on a better deal for a gun he probably paid 200 for

The 442 is awesome. The most versatile carry piece available IMO. It will serve you well. Commit to about 200 rounds of practice and you will be surprised at the accuracy you can attain. I think you could have done a little better than $79 on the other, but hey, if you feel good about it then think no more about it. Water under the bridge.

No Guns, No Safety, No Peace.
Also agree, save an extra $79 and you could of had both. Either way, 442 is definetly on my wish list. Great looking piece!

One loves to possess arms, though they hope never to have occasion for them.
A gun you don't like/won't use is no bargain: better to trade it off at ANY price to get one you will really like and use. I know, I've done it,
lost a few bucks, but am now one happy camper/shooter!

Thanks to everyone, I'm hoping to get out this week and get some lead down range. I'll let you know how it goes...
$79 or whatever, you got rid of a pistol with an internal lock.
New revolver has no lock.
Keep up the good work.
No internal lock or magazine disconnect on my pistols!
