I've had zero problems with my 4506. It's heavy and the DA trigger isn't great, but I can hit what I'm aiming at to the limits of the .45 round itself.

Mine is a range toy, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it if it was the only thing available.

Too heavy, I do not like DA only pistols. I carry a CS 45 or 4513 TSW. I have an almost new 4506 in the safe, it was my duty pistol and has had 50 rounds through it at the range. I like it, though it too is quite heavy.

Carried it's little brother the 4006 as a deputy. Quite the boat anchor as weight goes. Not so bad for concealed carry, but combined with the weight of a duty rig I walked with a list...
I like all kinds of foreign guns.

I don't always use missiles, but when I do it's the Minuteman III LGM-30G

But that 4516 was one good weapon and great to shoot too! I just wish I had kept it. If I had, it'd be on my permit today!
I carried a 4516 for a while when I worked with a drug unit as a cop also. Although it has a little heft, it is a great 3rd Gen Smith and makes for a very fine carry gun. NOTHING wrong with your logic!
