    Springfield announced new XDM soon

    Here is the link. Springfield Armory Can't find any info on caliber though. Guessing it will be a .45 compact.

    That would be my guess, but a single stack 9mm would be cool.
    The Ruger MKIII 22/45 is the worst handgun in history to take apart, but is one of the funnest to shoot...

    Not to be trendy, but I personally would like more options as far as slim guns go as well. Glock has the G36, Springfield should introduce something slim as well :D.

    I think the .45 compact would be the logical guess taking their past release history. A nice, slim single-stack compact would be great though... especially for the Mrs. She loves her XD9sc but wants to start thigh carrying in dresses and the XD9sc is pretty thick and blocky for thigh carry. She would definitely welcome a single-stack I'm sure. My guess is still the .45 compact though.

    What is your wait? Storm Lake has been making .357 Sig barrels that fit in the XD(m) .40 S&W for a long time now.

    They offer both a standard length 4.6 inches or an extended 5.3 inch barrel.

    With either of those barrel lengths, one would be able to get fantastic muzzle velocities from the .357 SIG cartridge.

    It is real easy to convert the gun to .357 SIG. Here is a XD(m) owner who made a real nice video all about doing this:




    Bar-Sto is now making .357 SIG barrels for the XD(m) as well. Only standard length offered, and it costs $45 more than the Storm Lake barrel.

    I'd be curious to see if they go the slim 9mm route.
