Brought home a new pistol yesterday, couldn't wait to build a holster!

This all started shooting with my father in law and falling in love with his XD 45. I wrote a post called XD 45 Envy. Well I got one and couldn't wait to show pictures of it in my holster I put together for it last night.

No open carry in Texas but I tried it under a long shirt open and unbuttoned and it doesn't print too bad. Keeps the gun nice and tight to me thanks everyone for the complements. I'm still developing my leathercraft skills.

Nice firearm, and very nice holster! I make all my own holsters as well....sometimes you just have to. I'll bet there aren't many choices of leather holsters for an XD with a flashlight! BTW have you noticed how much leather sides have increased in price? Keep up the good work.

Even it the holster didn't turn out perfect, like with reloading, creating your own makes it special. It is a nice holster though.

Between the boning and the light, this holster fits TIGHT. It can be reholstered without TOO much trouble but I'm hoping it losens up a bit. In a real SHTF situation I'm gonna jerk the pistol from the holster with some force anyway. Luckily it rides on the belt pretty securely so it can take the force without rocking. I carried it today for several hours and it seemed comfortable and functional. The rake makes it comfy from about 3:30 to 4:30. Anyone think I could eventually make a go at doing this as a small business down the road? I'm still learning and I understand this holster is not perfect.

I really like the holster, especially with the light attached. It seems less bulky than others I have seen with light attached. I think you could do quite well making holsters.
